Herein is Wonder

"Herein is wonder of wonders: he came below to raise me above, was born like me that I might become like him."
— “The Gift of Gifts,” of The Valley of Vision
Herein is Wonder: That all the hungry begging-bowls Of cooing prophecies are fed Honey and milk and manna-gold. Everyone is wrong about everything, But that woman nursing her child Wears Truth on her brow like a gem. Herein is Wonder, Nor have I spake in vain; this world's a flood And these verses remember me a shaft Of mountainous olive. Athena Was born out of her father's head, but here God of all ages drapes himself in rags; This is the fulcrum of the universe. Herein is Wonder, let all mortal lips Keep silent and adore his birth.
